Please join us in celebrating the tradition of Legal Aid Foundation's Thunderdome Tallahassee with Guest Speaker, former Judge and Author, Terry Lewis.

Your ticket purchase will help fund our new Thunderdome Tallahassee Class 8 Series beginning in February 2023 and will help ensure Legal Aid Foundation can continue to provide free civil legal services to those in need within the Leon County community.

Lawyers Enter | Leaders Emerge.

Thunderdome Tallahassee is a hands-on legal group training program to provide education, camaraderie, networking, leadership and recognition to a new generation of lawyers serving the community. Thunderdome Tallahassee prepares a diverse group of lawyers for trial, community service, and involvement at a leadership level.

We will be joined by our guest speaker, former Judge and Author, Terry Lewis. Judge Lewis' topic will be "The Founding of America and the Legacy of Pro Bono Publico."

Terry Lewis was a Florida trial judge for 30 years. He is now in private practice with the firm of Messer Caparello, focusing on arbitrations and mediations. His professional service and affiliations have included: Justice Teaching Institute, Florida Court Education Council, and the Supreme Court Committee on Jury Instructions in Civil Cases. His professional awards include Judge of the Year, Florida Law Related Education Association – 1993 and 2013, Judge Harvey Ford Leadership Award - 1996, and Trial Judge of the Year Award, American Board of Trial Advocates, Tallahassee Chapter - 2000.

Shortly after Terry became a judge, he began work on a novel. Seven years later, his first novel, Conflict of Interest, was published in 1997. He followed that with Privileged Information in 2003, and Delusional in 2013, all legal thrillers, set in or near Tallahassee. His first historical thriller Incognito, was released in 2021.

His most recent legal thriller Fast Break was released in May of 2022.

Judge Lewis was heavily involved in judicial education while on the bench and has a continued dedication to serving his community.
