The Legal Aid Foundation offers free or low cost help through two programs.
Receive free legal representation: The Pro Bono program matches low-income Leon County citizens, or Second Circuit residents with a Leon County case, to volunteer attorneys donating full-service case representation in civil cases, including:
- Discrimination (no contingency fee cases)
- Employment Issues
- Landlord/Tenant Issues
- Money Disputes Over Purchases
- Property Disputes
- Family Law Issues (Adoption, Child Custody/Visitation, Child Support Modification, Divorce, Guardianship, Paternity)
Get help to represent yourself in family law: The Pro Se program offers low cost consultations to help clients fill out approved Florida Supreme Court forms.
If neither the Pro Bono nor Pro Se programs are able to assist, our intake specialist will refer you to other appropriate resources for help, such as the Tallahassee Bar Lawyer Referral Service, in which participating lawyers guarantee a first consultation for no more than $25.
